Technical FAQ
What do I need on my computer to access and read my MedicKey?
MedicKey will work in essentially any Windows® NT based computer (XP or above). It auto-launches* and runs from its own program, so no special programs are required on the computer, neither when adding your information, nor when being read, for example, by a healthcare provider. *Auto-launch feature may not work on computers with advanced virus protection or corporate firewall protection. In these enviornments, simply go to "My Computer" and double click the MedicKey.exe file to start Key.
Why doesn't my MedicKey auto-launch?
Some computer systems have firewall, virus and spam protection features that block auto-run programs. Simply go to "My Computer" and look for the MedicKey. It may be listed as a "Removable Drive" or "Drive E" and click on the MedicKey.exe file to launch your MedicKey manually. Once the .exe file is clicked, the program will run as normal.
What is the storage capacity of my MedicKey?
The basic MedicKey Gold ( versions older than 3.9.2) will hold all the information to build your profile, and then up to 15 scanned images of documents or records. Upgrade your Key version for free on our Support page and immediately allow your Key to hold up to 2,000 images!
Is MedicKey compatible with Windows® Vista?
MedicKey is now compatible with Windows® Vista! Please update to the latest release of MedicKey if you are having issues on a Vista computer.
If I get a new computer do I need to uninstall it from my old one?
MedicKey does not modify your computer in any way, there is no install or uninstall of any software. |
