How does information get into my MedicKey?
Members are able to navigate through the formatted screens to easily add the information you wish, simply fill in the boxes and use the checkmark feature. Images of records or other documents are readily added thru the use of any simple home scanner, using MedicKeys easy clip-and drop feature. All instructions are contained within the Help feature built into the MedicKey.

What about Security?
Members are offered two levels of security when you first enter your data. You may choose to Password protect, or not, two separate features. The EDIT security feature means, if password protected, future edits can only be made by use of the Password. The ACCESS password means information can be viewed only by using the Password. We do recommend against this ACCESS being password protected, as their information may not be accessible in time of need. You may change your choice to Password protect, or not, at anytime in the future.

Can I update my Information?
All information can be easily edited and updated as needed. Updates to medications, for example, could take only 2-3 minutes.

What do I need to access and read my Information?
MedicKey will work in essentially any Windows® based computer, XP and above. It auto-launches* and runs from its own program, so no special programs are required on the computer, neither when adding your information, nor when being read, for example, by a healthcare provider. Auto-launch feature may not work on computers with advanced virus protection or corporate firewall protection. In these enviornments, simply go to "My Computer" and double click the MedicKey.exe file to start Key.

Can I put additional Family Members on my MedicKey?
Yes, a MedicKey Upgrade CD-B can be purchased to allow your MedicKey to hold up to 6 family members, all on the same Key, but with their specific information tied to each family member and their photo.

Can I make Duplicates (for example I live in Palm Desert but my daughter in NYC wants my info as well)?
Yes, simply purchase a second MedicKey and follow the simple instructions to create a duplicate. However, the information on a MedicKey cannot be duplicated by simply trying to copy to a non-MedicKey flash drive device.

How much Information do I need to add?
You can add as much or as little as you wish. You may begin with very basic information, and then add more later as health conditions change.

What is the storage capacity of my MedicKey?
The basic MedicKey Gold (older than version 3.9.2) will hold all the information to build your profile, and then up to 15 scanned images of documents or records. Upgrade your Key to the latest version for free on the Support page to allow your Key to hold up to 2,000 images!
